Dance Jobs in Chester
Chester Dance Centre is on the hunt for warm, switched-on teachers and routine-builders to run hen parties, couples' first dances and our weekly timetable across the historic city. Tell us the hours that fit your week, earn a rate that's fair, and you could be teaching a minute from the Eastgate Clock before long.
Teach Dance in the Heart of Historic Chester
Our city-centre studios are getting busier by the season, and we'd love generous, capable teachers to build with us. If a paid teaching slot in Chester or freelance choreography work is what you're chasing, there is very likely a role here with your name on it.
A Fair Rate
Weekly classes open at £22 an hour, and hen parties and first-dance work begin at £25. There's no invoice to keep chasing — what you've earned arrives on time, every single week.
Hours Built Around You
You shape the diary. Lean on evenings, take the weekends, or do a bit of both — we set the timetable around when you're free. Most of our teachers run somewhere between two and ten hours a week.
Room to Grow
A warm, encouraging base with honest feedback, CPD on the table and the freedom to launch classes of your own. When you flourish, so do we — which is why we get behind every teacher we take on.
The Roles We're Recruiting
There are three different roles going at the moment — go for just the one, or throw your hat in for the lot. The broader the range of styles you bring, the more places on the timetable we can hand you.

Dance Jobs Chester FAQ
The things would-be teachers most often ask us before joining Chester Dance Centre.
Must I hold a teaching qualification to pick up dance work in Chester?
No certificate is needed, though it is a welcome extra if you have one. What counts far more is real dance training, time spent on stage and a gift for getting a whole room moving and grinning. Show us you can run a session that stays safe, upbeat and properly taught, and we will happily set up a chat.
What hourly rate do teachers take home at Chester Dance Centre?
A regular weekly class opens at £22 an hour. The specialist work — hen-party sessions and couples' first dances — starts at £25 an hour. We look over pay on a regular basis, and it climbs the longer you teach alongside us.
Which styles do you currently need teachers for in Chester?
Recruitment spans every one of the 20 styles we programme — ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, street, hip-hop, commercial, salsa, bachata, tango, ballroom, heels, K-pop, bollywood, belly dance, flamenco, burlesque, pole, line dancing and Irish. Beyond those we also bring on board hen-party leaders, along with choreographers for wedding first dances.
Is the work at Chester Dance Centre employed or freelance?
We offer both — freelance for those who want the freedom, or an employed footing if you would rather a steadier arrangement. Either way the hours flex to suit you: midweek evenings, weekends, or a mix. Most of our teachers settle on roughly two to ten hours a week around everything else they have on.
Worth getting in touch if a single style is all I teach?
Definitely. We're pleased to take on a specialist in just one style and match you to the classes where you're strongest. Knowing a few styles only widens the spread of slots on offer — but one is more than enough to make a start.
