Choose the Theme. We'll Build a Routine You'll Actually Perform.

Every Chester dance hen party starts the same way — the bride picks a theme she adores, whether that is sultry Salsa, all-out Spice Girls or a 90s throwback, and the whole afternoon is built around it. 38+ to pick from.

From there it is a private studio, a professional choreographer and an hour or two spent learning a genuine routine from the ground up, taught in small, forgiving steps so confident movers and total beginners finish together. You walk out with it filmed and a group that has bonded over something other than prosecco.

A stroll round the City Walls, a spot of shopping along the Rows, the routine with us in between, then drinks down by the Dee — a Chester hen day that earns its place in the speeches.

One Set Price. However Many Turn Up.

Most Chester hen activities still charge per person, which turns organising into a spreadsheet every time numbers shift. We do away with that — a single fixed price for the whole group, agreed when you book. Whether six of you come or twenty-six, it stays exactly the same, with no deposit to chase round the group chat and no surprise on the final bill.

One price regardless of numbers — a last-minute drop-out never costs the rest of you a thing.

  1. Choose the theme

Let us know the bride's favourite from the 38+ list. Can't choose between two? We will roll them into one routine.

  2. Sort date and place

Pick one of our three studios in town or have us come to your cottage or hotel. Race-weekend and summer dates go early, so don't hang about.

  3. Learn it as a group

Your choreographer feeds the routine in a few counts at a time — years of training or none at all, everyone lands on the same step.

  4. Perform and celebrate

We film the final take so you keep it for good, and plenty of groups bring it back out at the wedding or along the bar later.

Wedding First Dance Lessons in Chester

With so many couples marrying in Cheshire's halls, barns and riverside venues, the first dance is the moment everyone reaches for a phone — so it deserves better than a nervous side-to-side. We choreograph it privately, just the two of you, scaled to suit you exactly, from a calm and confident classic to a routine that lifts the whole room out of its seats. A handful of lessons is usually all it takes.

We sort the practical things first — how much room your venue really gives you (a Cheshire barn and a hotel ballroom ask for very different routines), what your dress and shoes will allow, and where your song wants a turn, a dip or a pause. Lessons run at the studio we hire, or somewhere local to you — your home, a church hall or a nearby studio across Cheshire and the borders, evenings and weekends included. Still to plan the hen do? We will handle both in one go.

Good to Know

The questions Chester hen organisers ask us most — pricing, whether the bride pays, the space we need if we come to you, daytime slots and fitting around a day at the Races. Anything else, send an email and we will reply within a working day.

What's the price, and is it worked out per person?

We charge one price for the whole booking, not per person — £140 plus venue for an hour, or £165 plus venue for ninety minutes, no matter the headcount. So the cost never creeps up as names get added, and a late drop-out doesn't land on everyone else. Fancy a toast first? Add a bottle of prosecco for £10.

Does the bride get a discount or go free?

Because the price is for the whole group rather than per head, the bride is included at no extra cost — there is nothing separate to pay for her. We also build the routine so she is front and centre for the big moments, whether she wants the full spotlight or just a starring few seconds.

If you come to us, how much space do we need?

Not a lot — a clear lounge or function room where everyone can stand in a couple of rows with arms out is plenty. Push the sofas back, clear a bit of floor, and we will bring the music and work to the space you have. If you are not sure it is big enough, send a quick photo and we will tell you straight.

Can we book a daytime or weekday slot?

Yes — daytimes, weekday evenings and weekends are all open depending on studio and choreographer availability. Daytime sessions suit groups making a full day of Chester and often leave more of the evening free for dinner and drinks. Tell us roughly when and we will find a slot.

Can you fit around a day at the Races or other plans?

Of course — plenty of Chester hens build the class around a day at the Races, lunch in town or an afternoon along the Rows. Tell us what else is in the diary and we will set the session at a time that leaves you unhurried before and after, whether that is late morning or early evening.

We're only a small group — is that okay?

Absolutely. While many groups are ten to twenty strong, we are just as happy running a class for a handful of close friends — the flat price simply makes a small group better value per person. Smaller numbers also mean more individual attention and an even slicker final routine.

What Chester Dancers Tell Us.

From hen weekends to first dances to Tuesday-night regulars — a few words from the people who make our studios what they are.

We booked the Salsa routine the morning of a day at the Races — fifteen of us, two convinced they had no rhythm, and by the end even they were spinning. The choreographer kept us laughing the whole way through.

Hollie P. Maid of honour, Chester

Half the group travelled over from the Wirral and Liverpool, so one flat price made sorting the money so easy. Patient, funny and we genuinely looked the part on the final video.

Rebecca C. Bridesmaid, Ellesmere Port

I joined the ballroom class to get out of the house after moving to Chester and it has turned into my favourite night of the week. They explain everything so clearly you improve before you have even noticed.

Find Us in Chester

All three of our studios sit inside the city centre, a short walk from the Eastgate Clock, the Rows and the river at the Groves, with one usually close to wherever you are staying. Hen groups travel in from Ellesmere Port, Northwich, Wrexham and across the Welsh border, and with Liverpool and Manchester both under an hour away Chester is an easy meeting point for everyone.

Where You'll Dance

Three private studios around the CH1 city centre, steps from the Eastgate Clock and the main shopping streets. You'll have the exact address as soon as the date is yours.

By Train

Chester station runs direct trains from Liverpool (about 45 minutes), Manchester (an hour) and London Euston (around two hours), and it is a 15-minute walk or a quick taxi into the centre.

Parking & Getting In

The Grosvenor and Pepper Street car parks are minutes from the studios, with Park & Ride on the edge of the city if you would rather avoid the centre. Coming as a group, a couple of taxis is usually simplest.

Over the Border & Beyond

Lots of our hens come in from North Wales, the Wirral and wider Cheshire for the day. Tell us where you are based and, if it is easier, we will bring the whole class out to you.

The Chester Hen Do Everyone Remembers in the Speeches

You could do the afternoon tea, the spa, the wander round the boutiques. All lovely. But the moment that ends up in the wedding speech is the afternoon the whole group pulled off a routine nobody thought they could. Book your Chester hen do with us, or simply drop into a weekly class — either way, you will be dancing.
